Fernando Carro

Chief Executive Officer Arvato 

Fernando Carro has worked in various management positions at Bertelsmann since 1993 and has been CEO of Arvato since 2015. Previously, he served as a member of the Group Management Committee and as President Latin America and Spain, in charge of Bertelsmann businesses on the Iberian Peninsula and the company's expansion in the South American growth markets.

In addition, he was responsible for Bertelsmann’s club and direct-marketing businesses since 2007 and from 2007 to 2011 was CEO of Bertelsmann’s former Direct Group division. After training as an industrial manager and studying industrial engineering at the Technische Universität in Karlsruhe, Carro initially worked as a sports journalist.

He joined Bertelsmann via the company's Corporate Junior Executive Program. Just one year after joining, Carro became Managing Director of the specialist information publisher Etrasa in Madrid, then in 1998 Managing Director of Heinrich Vogel Verlag in Munich. In 1999 Carro was appointed to the divisional Executive Board of Bertelsmann Springer, before moving to Barcelona two years later as Managing Director of Círculo de Lectores. He became a member of the divisional Board of Direct Group in 2005 and at the same time took over the operational management of the German Clubs as CEO.

Rolf Hellermann

Chief Financial Officer Arvato 

Rolf Hellermann has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Arvato since July 2015. In addition, he has been serving as head of Bertelsmann’s Corporate Controlling and Strategy department since 2012.

After studying business administration in Vallendar, Los Angeles and Nancy, Hellermann completed his studies with a doctorate from the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar. Immediately afterwards, in 2004 he joined Bertelsmann’s Corporate Controlling and Strategy department and in 2008 was appointed Vice President in charge of corporate controlling and investment controlling for Random House, Arvato and Direct Group. During his Bertelsmann career, Hellermann has also completed postings at RTL Group in Luxembourg and Gruner + Jahr in Hamburg.

Thomas Mackenbrock

Chief Strategy Officer

Thomas Mackenbrock was appointed Chief Strategy Officer of Arvato in January 2017. Prior to that, he worked for Bertelsmann in several departments, roles and countries. In 2006, he began his Bertelsmann career in Corporate Development at the headquarters in Gütersloh. In 2008, he took over responsibility for the Business Development department. Starting in 2012, he built up the Corporate Center of the Bertelsmann Group in São Paulo as Managing Director Bertelsmann Brazil Investments (BBI). Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President Global Business Strategy at the music subsidiary BMG, where he was responsible for Brazil and China.

Before he joined Bertelsmann, Mackenbrock worked from 2000 to 2006 for McKinsey & Company in the fields high-tech, telecommunications and media.

Mackenbrock studied business and economics in Ingolstadt, Chicago and Leipzig and obtained his doctorate at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. He is married and has two children.

Matthias Moeller

Chief Executive Officer Arvato Systems

As CEO of Arvato Systems Matthias Moeller is responsible for Arvato’s Solution Group IT.

After studying computer science and business administration, he joined Bertelsmann Arvato in 1995 where he has held various roles.

He has been a part of the senior management team for IT Services since 2003. In 2012 Matthias Moeller was appointed Managing Director of Arvato Systems perdata GmbH with responsibility for IT Solutions and Services in the Utilities market unit. 

On 1st April 2016, he additionally took on the role of CEO of the Arvato Systems Group.

Siegfried Bloch

Human Resources

Siegfried Bloch is Chief Human Resources Officer for Arvato Systems.

After starting his career in personnel with Toyota Germany, he held various HR management positions in the Commerce and IT sectors. In 2009 he became head of HR for the IT Solution Group.

Siegfried Bloch lives in Ennepetal. He is married, with one son.

Klaus Holla

Service Delivery Factory

Klaus Holla is Chief Service Delivery Officer at Arvato Systems and part of the Arvato Systems GmbH management team.

After studying electronic engineering he started his career at Henkel where he took a range of roles in Germany and the USA. Moving on to Cognis (now BASF) and Linde AG he gained more experience in managing transformation processes and in January 2015 he came to Bertelsmann as Senior Vice President Infrastructure and Technology, where he has been largely responsible for the development of the new Bertelsmann IT roadmap.

He has been head of Arvato Systems Service Delivery since May 1, 2016.

Thomas Kathöfer

Commerce

Thomas Kathöfer is part of the Arvato Systems GmbH management team, with responsibility for the Commerce market unit.

The graduate computer scientist joined Bertelsmann in 1995 where he took various leadership roles, with the "Zentrale Informationsverarbeitung GmbH" (Central Information Management) as well as in the telecommunications and internet division of Arvato Systems. He has been in his current role since January 2014.

Thomas Kathöfer was born in Gelsenkirchen in 1958 and is married with four children.

Marcus Metzner

Marketing

As CMO Marcus Metzner is responsible for the marketing, PR and communications issues of Arvato Systems.

Marcus is a trained journalist, graduate of the Ruhr University Bochum and holds an MA degree. He joined Bertelsmann in 2001 at broadcast software specialist Solutions for Media (part of RTL Group at that time) and moved to Arvato in 2011. Within his different positions at Bertelsmann Marcus continuously focused on marketing and communications issues in the IT sector. Before joining Bertelsmann Marcus was Head of Editorial Staff at different TV production- and marketing-agencies, working for all major German broadcasters as well as for different industry clients.

Ralf Schürmann

Media

As CEO of Arvato Systems S4M GmbH, Ralf Schürmann is responsible for all Media market unit activity within the Arvato IT Solution Group.

After completing business administration studies in 1984, he started his career at Daimler Benz AG.

In 1998 Ralf Schürmann joined the Bertelsmann group. After spells in international project management, he moved into the Bertelsmann Music Group, where he was appointed Head of European IT, staying in this role until 2001. At this point, as Vice President, Music and Publishing Solutions, he moved into the sector now known as Arvato Systems.

Ralf Westhoff

Finances

Ralf Westhoff is CFO at Arvato Systems.

After studying business administration Ralf Westhoff joined Bertelsmann in 1999, where he was employed in various commercial and strategic roles. In 2004, as VP for Corporate Control and Consulting, he took on responsibility for audit and control of the global Arvato service delivery business. More recently, he has been active as SVP for Corporate Control and Strategy in the central department, with responsibility for Arvato Systems. He finally moved fully across to Arvato Systems on April 1, 2016 when he was appointed CFO.

Ralf Westhoff is married, has two children and lives in Gütersloh.
