From B2B E-Commerce to an Integrated Digital Customer Journey
BELIMO is the world market leader in the development, production, and distribution of drive solutions for the regulating and control of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Actuators, water actuators, and sensors form the core business. The company operates worldwide and is at home in over 80 countries. With its consistent focus on market needs and groundbreaking innovations, BELIMO has been setting standards in the field of HVAC drive and valve technology since 1975.

In the USA and Canada, the customers of BELIMO’s existing e-commerce offerings faced a problem: the shop systems based on the SAP IPC variant Configurator was unable to use the complex configuration options and pricing rules of the Belimo product catalog. The resulting response times of up to three minutes made BELIMO’s e-commerce offerings unattractive for customers in the US and Canada. BELMIO’s B2B e-commerce channel was therefore unable to realize it’s potential for the most part.
The previously heterogeneous marketing and e-commerce application landscape are merged into a global, consolidated web presence. With this initiative and a clear, consistent and global brand message, the aim is to further underline its position as a provider of innovative and high-quality products. This will enable Belimo to provide its customers with an integrated state-of-the-art digital customer journey for use on both desktop and mobile devices. The global solution also addresses the existing product configuration performance issues.
The globally established Arvato Systems team made this possible with the successful introduction of an integrated platform based on Magnolia CMS 5.5, SAP Hybris B2B Accelerator 6.2 (module of the SAP Commerce Cloud) and the latest version of SAP CPQ 2.0 (configure, price, quote). Another main task was the implementation of the new design, which was created under the overall project management of Arvato Systems.
