Since 1st August 2015 Dr. Michael Müller-Wünsch (Berlin, 1961) is Member of the OTTO Management Board Technology (CIO). After graduating in IT in 1985 from the Technische Universität Berlin, Müller-Wünsch initially stayed on at the university as a member of the academic staff. In 1990 he completed his MBA. In 1991 he was awarded a Doctorate in Engineering Sciences and continued to pursue his academic career as Assistant Lec-turer in the Business IT Department until 1996. In 1996 he changed careers and joined the Board of Directors of Herlitz AG in Berlin. There he was responsible for business development, the management of international group companies and headed Services & Operations Central Europe. Between 2000 and 2004 Müller-Wünsch served as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of myToys.de GmbH. He then moved to Frank-furt am Main to take up a position as a Member of the Executive Board of CEVA Logistics GmbH. Among other responsibilities, he was responsible at CEVA for Sales, IT and Operations. As a partner at HiSolutions AG, Müller-Wünsch mainly devoted his time from 2010 to 2012 to providing consulting services. He then assumed responsibility for restructuring the European IT operations of the wholesaler Lekkerland AG & Co. KG as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In the newly created function of Member of the OTTO Management Board Techno-logy, Müller-Wünsch is responsible for further developing the online retailer's IT environment.
Alexander Brand founded windeln.de in January 2010, together with Konstantin Urban and Dagmar Mahnel. Since then, he has been a member of the board of today’s windeln.de AG. He is responsible for Strategy & Acquisitions, Operations, Technology, Customer Service, Business Intelligence as well as the business segments windelbar.de and windeln.ch. Alexander Brand worked seven years for Siemens, most recently as Senior Vice President, EMEA Sales Operations in Munich.
Prior to working for Siemens, Alexander Brand evidenced his expertise in entrepreneurship with the successful launch and later sale of 12snap AG, a mobile marketing company. Alexander Brand started his career at A.T. Kearney and Siemens Management Consulting in New York, Munich and Paris. Alexander Brand holds a Master of Science degree from Stanford University, United States, and a degree in Industrial Engineering and Economics from the University of Karlsruhe.
Alexander Brand lives in Munich together with his wife Andrea and their two children.
Shah Karim is an expert on big data and omni-channel retail, and chief executive officer of SafeRock, a New Jersey-based company that provides analytic solutions to retailers to improve shareholder value and improve return on investment. Shah is a leading researcher and speaker on retail megatrends, convergence of retail stores and ecommerce, mobile and digital solutions, U.S. retail sales, education technology and customer engagement. Shah has authored and co-authored research published in CITI Research, Retail & Leisure, Retail Solutions Online, Chain Store Age, Apparel News, Handelsblatt, and Shopping Center Business. He delivered a keynote at the 9th CIO Summit at IGDS, spoke at SXSW on retail megatrends, and is recognized as a top 100 retail industry influencer by Retail Digest. Since 2013, he has served on the board of governors for UNT’s merchandising and digital retailing program and the Think Tank for the program’s research center. Most recently, Shah was invited to Penn State’s Industry Advisory Board for Enterprise Systems. Shah is an Advisory Board Member of NJIT School of Management, and an Advisor to the Maria Cristina Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Tribeca Disruptor Foundation, a community of accomplished and promising innovators dedicated to propelling their respective fields further. Shah received his B.A., M.A., and M.Phil. from Yale University.
Prof. Dr. Margit Kling is the managing director of the consulting agency CUSTOMER CODE, in which she advices renowned companies of the commerce sector, in areas like customer insights, branding and customer-focused innovation development. Furthermore she has the professorship of brand planning and consumption psychology at the Design Academy Berlin (SRH college of communication and design), and affiliates to one of the few experts in the field of customer behavior, that connects the strategical consumer research and the application-oriented neuromarketing.
Prior to her professorship 2009, Margit Kling headed the strategic planning department at eBay Germany, where she was responsible for the areas market research, brand marketing and strategy for eBay and PayPal. Previously, she operated as consultant for High-Tech-Companies – among others for Daimler AG – at the TU Berlin. There she supported companies of the B2B and B2C segment, by merchandising their innovative technology products.
Oliver Simmerstatter is working as an Enterprise Architect for SPAR ICS – the IT service provider of the SPAR Austria Group.
His current focus areas comprise eCommerce, with a strong focus on Commerce platforms and Product Content Management as well as Digital Marketing including Web Content Management Systems (WCMS), Search&Recommendation, Social Media Monitoring, Customer Segmentation and Personalisation.
Dr. Thomas Thalhammer is working as an Enterprise Architect for SPAR ICS – the IT service provider of the SPAR Austria Group.
His current focus areas comprise Business Intelligence including Data Warehousing/Reporting/Analytics/Big Data, HCM, Administration and CRM. He is also engaged as an internal IT account manager for HERVIS sports & fashion, a subsidiary of SPAR Austria Group.
Facilitator: Kathrin Haug is Managing Partner of teamX.digital a company that supports customers in digital transformation and that implements innovative concepts. She has been in the digital space for over 15 years, is a serial entrepreneur and founded several new media companies, like infoMedia that has been successfully acquired by Thyssen Telecom or mindwyse, that is today operating as dgroup. Kathrin Haug is frequently invited as international speaker and moderator to various conferences and events (Adtech, Mobile Gipfel, Neocom, Social Media Conference, Inside NYC Summit, etc.) and also organizes and hosts international events and digital experience tours by herself. Currently she is involved building up the “Innovation Hub - Spielfeld -“ together with Roland Berger in Berlin.
